At first I was skeptical because of the texture it as soon as I rubbed it into my face I loved it. It makes my face feel soft and I feel protected from the cold weather outside and the dry heat inside.
Love this product
I recently purchased a moisturizer and balm from Holy Cow Organics, a small independent business after reading glowing reviews, but my experience was far from what I expected. While the product had received positive feedback, the customer service and product quality left much to be desired.
First, I encountered an issue with shipping. After waiting several days without receiving a tracking number, I contacted customer service to confirm my shipping address, as I had just moved and had different billing and shipping addresses. The owner, Danielle, responded several days later with a terse message simply stating that the shipping address was at the end of the email chain. There was no greeting, no apology, no acknowledgment of my concern—just a cold, unprofessional reply.
Fast forward nearly a month, and my order finally arrived, only to be a melted mess. The balm had melted during transit, but I was able to salvage it by refrigerating it. The whipped moisturizer, however, did not melt. I didn't bother contacting customer service again, as I feared more of the same dismissive attitude I had already received.
But the biggest disappointment came with the scent of the products. The balm, which had melted, smelled nothing like the reviews had described. Instead of a pleasant fragrance, it had a horrendous odor of raw meat and lard, almost like petroleum. It was utterly disgusting. The whipped moisturizer wasn’t much better—its scent was a strange mix of steak and an attempt at masking it with a faint perfume smell. The combination was nauseating and didn’t compliment the products at all.
I decided to give the products a fair chance and used the lip balm, body balm, and whipped moisturizer for five days. Unfortunately, despite the smooth application, the moisturization claims were far from accurate. My skin, particularly on my right hand where I applied the body balm, began peeling and feeling drier, not more hydrated. In fact, my skin looked and felt worse than before.
In summary, my experience with this small business was deeply disappointing. There are several issues to address:
Customer Service: The owner needs to learn basic communication and professionalism. Responses were cold, dismissive, and lacked basic courtesy.
Shipping: It took over a month to receive my order, which is completely unacceptable, especially with such poor customer service.
Hi Misty. I am saddened to read this message, and do want to extend an apology. I take a lot of pride in what I do, and will admit that I've been a bit busier than usual this holiday season.
After taking a look back at our conversation, I did greet you, offered a resolution to your shipping concerns, then ended with thanking you for reaching out, and a smiley face. I'm sorry if that came off as cold, that was not my intention at all. I'd also like to note that you reached out on 11/21, and I replied the following day. There was not several days between messages.
During the holidays, we are asking for additonal time processing orders. the header at the top of our page states this as well. Your order was placed on 11/19, was shipped 11/25, and was delivered to your mailbox on 12/2. I understand that we are not quite as quick as big box stores, but as a small business, we are doing everything we can.
I am sorry you're unhappy with your products. Masking the scent is never my objective, adding addition benefits is the main reason for the infusions. Most people think they both work and smell great, however, I know nothing is ever a one size fits all. I hope this reply finds you well, and please feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions for me. I hope that you have a great day, and a lovely holiday season. - Danielle
Helps keep my skin from cracking and itching throughout winter months. I def don’t use it everywhere bc it’s so oily. I also smell like steak:) lol
What you put on your skin affects you internally. I love that this has no chemicals and works so well!
